THE KNOXVILLE 9/11 MEMORIAL IN TENNESSEE
This impressive
Memorial dedicated to the victims and heroes of 911 sits in the center of
the beautiful, green and grassy, Assembly Park located at 400 Main Street,
in Knoxville, Tennessee. The designer and builder of this memorial, Randy
Vaden, local artist has created not just a memorial but a living remembrance
where families and friends and all those who wish to spend some time
reflecting may do so to the sound of unearthly, spiritual chimes that are
set into the domed ceiling and give the effect of being inside a chapel.
These chimes ring with approaching wind leading to an even more unearthly
experience. It is perfectly balanced off by the classical design which
houses a four sided black granite obelisk etched with the names of all those
lost during the horrific attacks of 911. Above you can see Randy and his
wife, Tammy, pointing to the names etched into this stone as a permanent
remembrance.
