On September 11th, Hal Lindstrom heard the emergency services screeching through
his town. About a week later he began plans for a memorial to honor those lost.
It was a tough task that he undertook alone at the beginning, and it required
every bit of his time, effort, attention, and love. He persisted through it
all, and in conjunction with the Greater Calverton Civic Association, and
others, like FDNY Firefighter Mark Lapidez, retired from Engine 315, Hal was
able to pull through and create a masterpiece; a place where all are welcome to
come and reflect and remember all our heroes and loved ones. Here, they will be
remembered for eternity!
